Abstract

The sugarcane sludge and vinasse, are wastes of the sugar industry, they have a negative impact when discharged into water bodies and a positive effect when applied into the soil. The aim of this research note was to analyze the effects on the physical, chemical and biological properties of the soil af ter the applicationofvinasseandsugarcanesludge.Andtodetermine the advantages and disadvantages of using these products in the cultivation of sugarcane. The use of sugarcane sludge compost benefits the physical, chemical and biological properties of the soil. The application of vinasse benefits mainly chemical and biological properties. The use of these products in the sugarcane crop as soil organic amendment result in advantages because of its physicochemical characteristics.
