Abstract

Nana F2007 was developed by the National Wheat Program of the INIFAP and evaluated from 2005 to 2012. This variety is of spring growth habit, with semi-erect carriage at tillering and stem tolerant to lodging, with an average height of 84 cm on average. It is classified as a variety of early cycle, 85 days to 134 days maturity in drought environments rainy, like Gálvez M87, Náhuatl F2000 and Tlaxcala F2000. It was classified as moderately resistant to leaf rust (Puccinia triticina) and stripe rust (P. striiformis f. Sp. Tritici). The yield in critical environments (less than 300 mm) in intermediate environments (300 to 600 mm) and favorable environments (over 600 mm) was higher than in all control varieties from 10% to 25%. This variety is classified as genotype of red grain, medium and semi-hard (pearl index= 45%), with average test weight of 77 kg hL-1, comparable with Rebeca F2000 and Tlaxcala F2000. Protein content in f lour was 11.4%, which meets the standards of the national flour industry (11.0% +/- 1.5%). It is classified as a variety of strong, extensible gluten and good bread volume. It is recommended for planting in all wheat-growing areas temporarily in early to late plantings.
