In the state of Tlaxcala and production and consume amaranth, so is important to study their properties and agronomic aspects d the soil where it grows. To meet this goal, in this paper we selected three sites belonging to the municipality of Nativitas, Tlaxcala, cycle 2009-2010, where before sowing cattle manure applied. The physical and chemical properties of the soils were evaluated and its nutritional content. The plant, deterministic or aboveground biomass, seed yield, plant height, chemical composition and photosynthetic activity through quantification of chlorophyll. Results showed that soils have deficiencies of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, low in organic matter, few exchange sites. Low salt content and pH in moderately acid plant, with concentration of nitrogen in the leaves was critical, evaluated at the three sites, the levels of phosphorus and potassium were presented at a level of proficiency in the site. Site 1 had the highest plant height, biomass and yield. Significant and positive correlation between cation exchange capacity and seed yield, aboveground biomass between the content of silt and clay, and plant height with aboveground biomass and seed yield were taken. Chlorophyll content was not statistically significant between sites, but the correlations between chlorophyll and nitrogen concentration and chlorophyll b with potassium were significant.
