The objective of this research was to e valuate biomass, grain yield, harvest index (HI) and efficiency of radiation (EUR) in 3 wheat cultivars under two nitrogen levels in three application times (strategies). The experiment was established during the season spring-summer 2011 in Toluca, Mexico. Wheat cultivars were evaluated: Salamanca S-75, Romoga F-96 and Tollocan F-2005 with two levels of N (100 and 200 g N ha-1 k) application using three strategies: 1 (50% of N at planting and 50% at tillering), 2 (50% N at planting and 50% at terminal spikelet), 3 (50% of N at planting and 50 % flag leaf). Data were analyzed in a split-plot experimental design. Among the cultivars, Tollocan F-2005 showed higher biomass yield and HI. With 200 kg N ha-1 biomass values, increased performance and a positive U.S. response strategies 2 and 3 was observed; However the efect or strategy depends on cultivar and fertilization. Tollocan F-2005 peaked grain yield (695.61 gm-2) when they traron supply 200 kg N ha-1 applying 50% at planting and 50% at f lag leaf.
